Apatech Motors and Alpine Marketing Form Business Partnership in the Field of Environmentally Responsive Electric Vehicles for a Decarbonized Society

Apatech Motors Ltd., Co. (Head Office: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo; Feng Sun, President and Representative Director; hereinafter “Apatech Motors”) and Alpine Marketing, Inc. (Head Office: Ota-ku, Tokyo; President: Muneki Ishida; hereinafter “Alpine Marketing”) have entered into a business partnership to cooperate and respond to changes in the automotive and energy industries toward the realization of a decarbonized society.
Background and purpose of partnership
In recent years, the risk of climate change has become more serious, and countries around the world are calling for a “halving of CO2 emissions by 2030” in order to realize a decarbonized society. At the same time, the electrification of vehicles has become a key issue for decarbonization efforts in Japan.
Under these circumstances, Aptech Motors and Alpine Marketing will collaborate with Alpine Marketing in the development of Aptech Motors’ popular EV business in Japan, and will accelerate the company’s contribution to human society through environmental conservation by leveraging Alpine’s marketing and branding capabilities.
Apatech Motors and Alpine Marketing aim to conclude and implement a basic agreement regarding the following partnership.
(Details of the partnership)
(1) Apatech Motors will provide the EV (OHKUMA Car) for the demonstration experiment (*1) in Okinawa Prefecture scheduled to start in July 2023.
(2) Alpine Marketing will lease EVs (OHKUMA Car) on a subscription basis to car rental companies that support the demonstration experiment.
(3) Both companies will discuss and agree on a capital tie-up after observing the process of the demonstration experiment in (1) through (2).
*1: A collaborative effort by Alps Alpine Electronics, NTT DATA, and Zenrin to solve transportation, regional, and social issues through the use of mobility data. The demonstration experiment is a platform that collects real-time information such as images/video images around roads, especially traffic congestion, from drive recorders installed in rental cars in Okinawa Prefecture, and provides this information to tourists using rental cars.
