Apatech Motors and Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance begin to consider collaboration in the automotive industry’s response to the environment and the transition to EVs.

Apatech Motors Ltd., Co.(Head Office: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Feng Sun; hereinafter “Apatech Motors”) and Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance Company, Limited (Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Shinichiro Funabaki; hereinafter “Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance”) have started to consider collaboration in order to respond to the drastic changes in the environment surrounding the automobile industry in preparation for a decarbonized society.

Background and Aims of the Alliance

In recent years, as the risk of climate change has become more serious and countries have been calling for a “halving of CO2 emissions by 2030” in order to realize a decarbonized society, the electrification of vehicles has become a major issue for decarbonization efforts in Japan, as we have already noted.

Under such circumstances, Aptech Motors and MSI hope to contribute to the pursuit of people’s happiness and environmental preservation through the spread of environmentally friendly vehicles by bringing their mutual resources to cooperate in the business of promoting China-made EVs in Japan, which is promoted by Aptech Motors.

Apatech Motors and MSI will discuss the details of the business alliance with the aim of concluding a basic agreement on business alliance as soon as possible.
